You might be thinking what does movement have to do with a functional AI or even AGI ? Isn’t movement just a simple command we can code in strict terms rotate enconder_02 30 degrees ? Well, to my and possibly your surprise there is a lot more to movement than this simple pseudocode and a whole set of insights into writing AIs that we’ll explore here.

For starters let’s say you are sitting at your desk or table and have a tasty beverage at hand ( like a cup of coffee ), next to you is a robotic arm and your task as an AI/Robotics programmer is to write some code so the arm grabs the cup of coffee and delivers the cup to your lips without spilling it or smashing the cup into your face, we’ll be using this task as background for this discussion.

The camera should probably be overseeing the 3 subjects and usually you have an exterior computer and a mess of cables but I hope you get the gist.
